Mon-Fri 7am Masses will be celebrated in the Notre Dame Seminary Chapel (2901 S. Carrollton Ave.). Park in the front circle.
Saturday 4pm and Sunday 7am and 10:30am Masses will be celebrated in the Moreau Center (the school cafeteria). Entrances are on the right-side of the school parking lot or from Lowerline St.
The Church will be open for private prayer during the day, as normal.
Thank you for your patience during these times. Stay tuned for updates on the project.
Broken Chiller: How Did We Get Here?
In April, for the first time in years, all four church compressors were functioning, thanks to repairs to both circuits of our 100-ton system. Though an old unit (25 or so years old), the chiller seemed to be in good working order for the foreseeable future.
The rain event the Wednesday before Barry, however, showed us otherwise. Noticing problems with the chiller after that storm, we brought in mechanics who diagnosed two grounded or broken compressors. One compressor was functioning, the other in an uncertain state of repair due to another problem with that circuit.
It was clear another chiller replacement on campus was needed -- after this summer's school chiller replacement. Mechanics felt fairly confident that the current system could get us to October. With a 7-week turnaround on such a sizable chiller, waiting it out seemed wiser than rushing for a later September installation.
Sadly, that was not to be. As we have further details on the chiller, we will let the parish know.
